First post
First post on this blog. I want to try a different way of documenting my work. This isn’t about likes, sharing for exposure, or promoting what I’m making. It’s more about capturing mindset and creating a space to think through the work as it develops.
It’s been a while since I’ve fully returned to my own practice. Teaching takes a lot of energy—connecting with students, supporting their ideas, and maintaining the studio. By the end of the day, it can be difficult to shift back into making for myself, even though I’ve usually been able to balance both.
Lately, I’ve been revisiting work I started last fall, focusing on bringing ceramic back into my process alongside glass. I had early experience with ceramics but stepped away from it after committing to glass as my primary material. Each medium brings its own challenges, but I’ve found a sense of clarity in trying to combine them when it works.
Glass can feel limitless, but stepping into another material has forced me to rethink those assumptions. It’s a way of pushing the work forward without letting it settle too comfortably. I’m trying something new.
